How to renew Boravak without your permit expiring

Temporary Boravak is granted for 1, 2 or 3 years. Renewal must be filed before expiration, but there's a deadline trap.

When to apply

The system allows filing 60 days before expiration. File at 60 days, not at 30 — if the office takes 6 weeks, your current Boravak expires and you're temporarily out of status.

Common renewal mistakes

• Assuming it's an express process — it isn't.
• Not refreshing the criminal record certificate.
