“I arrived knowing nothing about the Serbian system. Now I help others avoid what I went through.”
I'm a Latina living in Belgrade. I've personally navigated the maze of Boravak, Preduzetnik, the Serbian banking system, and daily life without speaking Serbian. What took me months to learn, you can get in one consultation.
I work with a trusted network of Serbian lawyers, accountants, and professionals to give you a complete service — always in your language.
Frequently asked questions
The most common questions from the Latin American community before making the move to Serbia.
Is it legal to work remotely from Serbia?
Yes. Serbia has had a temporary residence permit for remote workers since 2023. The process requires proving minimum income and registering an address, but it is completely legal and renewable.
How much tax do self-employed people pay?
The Preduzetnik regime applies a flat rate of 10% on net income, plus social security contributions. This is significantly lower than in most EU or Latin American countries.
How long does the residency process take?
The Boravak is typically resolved in 4 to 8 weeks from correct document submission. The most common mistake is incomplete documentation, which unnecessarily delays the process.
Do I need to speak Serbian for all the paperwork?
For most official procedures, documentation in Serbian is required, but processes can be managed with the support of a trusted interpreter. I help you prepare and verify everything without needing to learn Serbian overnight.
Can I open a bank account without residency?
Some Serbian banks allow opening basic accounts with a passport and Beli Karton (address registration), without needing the full Boravak. I'll guide you to the fastest route for your situation.
What's the difference between Preduzetnik and D.O.O.?
Preduzetnik is the equivalent of a sole trader — simpler, lower costs. D.O.O. is the limited company — more personal protection but more bureaucracy. In the consultation we analyze which fits your case.
